Changan
China · Founded 1862
Changan Automobile is a Chinese state-owned automaker with roots in 19th-century arms manufacturing, now a major EV producer.
History
Changan traces its origins to 1862, when a Shanghai arsenal was established that later evolved into an automotive enterprise. The company partnered with Ford, Suzuki, and Mazda before betting heavily on its own brands. Changan now sells new-energy vehicles under the Changan, Deepal, and Avatr banners.
