History
SAIC Motor's origins date to 1955, when Shanghai Automotive Industry was established to build cars in the city. Through joint ventures with Volkswagen and General Motors, it became China's top-selling group. SAIC's own brands, led by MG and Roewe, are expanding globally, particularly in Europe.
