History
smart was established in 1994 as a Daimler project to create a tiny city car, launching the iconic fortwo in 1998. In 2019, Geely and Mercedes-Benz formed a joint venture to reinvent smart as a premium compact EV brand. The #1 and #3, built in China, relaunched the marque globally.
