IM Motors has confirmed pre-sales for the updated LS6 will open on September 10, with the new-generation electric SUV priced around 200,000 yuan (approx. $27,778).
The LS6 receives a significant technology upgrade with a steer-by-wire chassis, removing the mechanical connection between the steering wheel and the front wheels. This allows for more precise steering control and enables variable steering ratios that adapt to driving conditions.
IM Motors is marketing the updated LS6 with "aviation-grade safety" as a key selling point, though the company has not yet released detailed specifications on what structural or battery safety measures underpin that claim.
The LS6 competes in China's crowded mid-size electric SUV segment, facing rivals from XPENG, NIO, Zeekr and other new EV startups. The steer-by-wire feature places it among the earlier mass-market Chinese EVs to offer this technology, which is typically found on premium vehicles.
Pricing details and full specifications are expected to be revealed when pre-sales officially open on September 10.
