The all-new Hongqi H7 plug-in hybrid sedan has opened for pre-sale in China, with a starting price of 181,800 yuan (approx. $25,250). The brand confirmed the launch on August 13.

Pricing and trims

Three variants are available at launch:

  • 180 Intelligent Hybrid: pre-sale 191,800 yuan, launch price 181,800 yuan (approx. $25,250).
  • 240 Intelligent Hybrid: pre-sale 206,800 yuan, launch price 196,800 yuan (approx. $27,330).
  • 210 AWD Intelligent Hybrid: pre-sale 231,800 yuan, launch price 221,800 yuan (approx. $30,800).

Dimensions and exterior

The new H7 measures 5,060 mm in length, 1,910 mm wide, and 1,480 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,970 mm. Design cues include a flowing gradient privacy glass treatment on the front row, semi-hidden door handles, frameless side mirrors, crystal-cut LED daytime running lights, and a 1.376-square-metre panoramic sunroof.

Interior and technology

Inside, the H7 features ambient lighting with a "Starry River" theme, BOSE smart audio technologies supporting Dolby Atmos 7.1.4, a 4-litre intelligent temperature-controlled refrigerator, and a 500-litre boot expanding to 1,717 litres. The cabin is powered by the Lingxi Cockpit 5.0 system built around the Qualcomm 8295P chip, paired with a 15.6-inch 2.5K touchscreen and a 30-inch augmented-reality head-up display.

Software features include voice recognition across four zones, driver monitoring with Face ID, and integration with ByteDance's Doubao large language model.

Driving assistance and powertrain

Hongqi equips the H7 with its Sinan intelligent driving assist system, offering city navigation pilot, highway navigation pilot, and smart parking assistance. The Honghu hybrid powertrain delivers a CLTC pure-electric range of 240 km and a combined range of 1,954 km. Fuel consumption is rated at 4.4 litres per 100 km under WLTC conditions with depleted battery. Buyers can choose between a ternary-lithium or a lithium-iron-phosphate pack.

The AWD model produces a combined 479 kW and 871 N·m, with a reported 100-km/h braking distance of 35.8 metres.

Safety and structure

The body uses a 2,000-MPa high-strength steel cage construction with an integrated dual-door-ring structure. Nine airbags are standard across all variants, with a 6-millisecond deployment response. Twenty-two active safety functions come as standard equipment.
