Leapmotor A10 Dominates With 10,000 Monthly Sales—Which Trim Is the Sweet Spot?
Leapmotor hit 100,000 monthly deliveries for the first time, led by the A10. The 505km Comfort trim leads sales at approx. $10,667, while a 3.5% national subsidy brings entry prices below $10,300.

Leapmotor delivered 100,000 units in August, cementing its position among the top new-EV startups in China. At the heart of that milestone is the A10, a sub-$11,000 electric hatchback that has moved nearly 100,000 units in just over four months since launch.
The numbers behind that volume tell a clear story about what Chinese buyers at the entry-level are choosing. Of the 61,742 A10 units sold between March and July, 33,369 came from the 505km Comfort trim at 76,800 RMB (approx. $10,667) — nearly half of total A10 output. The 505km LiDAR trim, priced at 86,800 RMB (approx. $12,056), accounted for 28,373 units, or over 37 percent. Combined, the two 505km versions made up more than 80 percent of sales, while the shorter-range 403km variants together captured less than one-fifth.
The takeaway is unambiguous: range matters more than gadgets at this price point. Nearly four in ten buyers chose to pay the extra $1,000 for the LiDAR-equipped version with highway navigation assist, but the majority still picked the longer-range, lower-spec model.
Geography adds another layer. Zhejiang province led the country with 2,104 units, buoyed by Leapmotor's Hangzhou headquarters and local purchase incentives. Guangdong, Jiangsu and Shandong rounded out the top four. The pattern reflects a broader South-vs-North divide in NEV adoption — milder winters in the south reduce range-anxiety concerns, and Leapmotor's dealer network is denser there.
At the city level, Hangzhou topped the list with 514 units, followed by Zhengzhou at 446 — ahead of Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai. New first-tier and tier-two cities dominated the rankings, signaling that the A10's growth engine is shifting away from already-saturated megacities toward smaller urban markets with strong upgrade demand.
For buyers looking to close the deal now, Leapmotor is running a 3.5 percent national subsidy on all models, funded from an 80-million-RMB pool on a first-come, first-served basis. Applied to the two best-sellers, it drops the 505km Comfort to roughly 74,112 RMB (approx. $10,295) and the 505km LiDAR to about 83,774 RMB (approx. $11,635). The savings land in the $300-400 range, a meaningful cut on a vehicle in this segment.
