NIO's Firefly sub-brand has delivered its 80,000th vehicle at a ceremony in Hefei, just weeks after crossing the 70,000-unit mark on July 16. The brand added roughly 10,000 deliveries in under two months, underscoring strong ramp-up momentum.

The delivery surge coincides with infrastructure expansion. On August 7, NIO opened its 4,000th battery-swap station in Quanzhou, Fujian — the first fifth-generation site — and Firefly models were formally integrated into the swap network. Access to NIO's swap stations is expected to ease range anxiety and bolster adoption for the compact EV.

In August 2026, NIO delivered 35,836 new vehicles, up 14.5% year on year. Firefly contributed 5,852 units, representing a 34.7% annual increase. For the first eight months of the year, NIO's total deliveries reached 262,893, up 57.9% from a year earlier. Firefly accounted for 40,795 of those deliveries, a 180.3% jump.

Firefly's starting price sits at approximately $16,639 (119,800 yuan) for the volume trims, with the halo "Habitat" variant beginning around $18,500 (133,300 yuan). The sub-brand, launched to target younger buyers and the compact EV segment, has rapidly scaled alongside NIO's broader portfolio growth.
